Frequently Asked Questions

The practical stuff.

Files, process, pricing, confidentiality, and what to expect when commissioning industrial 3D visualization.

What files do you need to create a 3D visualization?

CAD or 3D files are usually the best starting point. Drawings, reference photos, specifications, material information, and brand guidelines can also help. If you’re unsure what’s usable, send what you have.

Can you work from STEP, SolidWorks, or other CAD files?

Yes. We can review STEP/STP, IGES, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, OBJ, FBX, Blender, and other common formats. Cleanup requirements vary by file.

Can you visualize a product that has not been manufactured yet?

Yes. One advantage of 3D visualization is that a product can be presented before photography or a finished physical prototype is available, provided the design information is developed enough to represent accurately.

Can you show internal components or mechanisms?

Yes. Cutaways, exploded views, transparent housings, isolated components, and animated assemblies can reveal features that a camera cannot reach. We can plan the view around what your audience actually needs to understand.

Can you show a process, flow, or operating sequence?

Yes. Technical and process visualization can show movement, assembly, installation, product operation, flow direction, or other sequences. Accuracy depends on the engineering information and references supplied for the project.

How much does industrial 3D visualization cost?

Cost depends on the deliverable, technical complexity, CAD readiness, number of views, animation length, and deadline. Use our cost calculator for an early ballpark. It’s a planning tool, not a quote.

How long does a project take?

Turnaround depends on scope and review cycles. A small rendering project may move quickly; a detailed technical animation can take considerably longer. Include any trade show, launch, or presentation deadline in your inquiry.

Do you work under NDA?

Yes. If confidentiality is required before technical files are shared, note that in your inquiry or intake so the requirement can be addressed before sensitive project material is exchanged.

What do I receive at the end?

Deliverables are defined per project. They may include high-resolution stills, image sequences, finished video files, presentation or trade-show versions, or interactive assets. Required dimensions, aspect ratios, resolution, and destinations should be identified before final production whenever possible.

Still have a question?
